If you guys read the interview that Steve posted from Rhythm Magazine 2000, Vinnie talks about his Longo Snare Drum. Here is a quote from that interview,
"I have one unusual snare that was given to me after a gig with Sting in Florida. It's a funny caramel color with a solid wood shell, and has Longo Custom Drums written on it. I've never seen the guy who gave it to me again, but I've had a lot of mileage from the drum, which has a nice, solid, fat sound ?almost like a Radio King but more contemporary".
I posted a while back regarding this snare and the contact that I have with Longo Drums. If any of you are interested in maybe purchasing one of these one of a kind snares let me know.

Dude, you (or whoever runs Longo) should put up a website, ASAP. I bet just that article with Vinnie could produce many orders.

If it was up to me I would of been at NAMM with a booth selling the shit out of these things! I am working with Longo right now on getting some sort of marketing plan together. The problem we have right now is getting Vinnie on the program. I am not sure if he is going to be able to endorse another drum company other than Gretsch. Which by the way, Gretsch just came out with another Vinnie signature snare. Check out the Gretsch website for details. This further complicates things. I am trying to put it together, it just might take some time. Personally I think it is cooler to have one of these hand made Longo snares over a production gretsch snare. That is just my opinion. Let me know what you guys think.
